So how does a well catch fire? Ours is a st...Yikes! So how does a well catch fire? Ours is a steel pipe lined with white plastic pipe with holes in it, 360 feet down. The pump is down there somewhere. But we don't have a well house or anything, and the piping to the cabin, etc. is underground and goes to the pressure tank indoors straight from the well. Did your pump catch fire?
