"In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet."
~Proverbs 31: 19 - 21~
This quote always reminds me of my great grandmother...she was always busy in her home. It was very clean. Curtains and such were beautifully homemade. Her hands were always busy with mending, making rag rugs, quilts, knitting etc. When company dropped by she was always prepared with cookies and tea. We were always made to feel welcome. She always seemed prepared for whatever the day might bring.
It may have been simpler for her not to be distracted. Today we are distracted by our busy schedules with our kids, our church, our daily needs. I think setting goals to have our home in order and being ready to help those in need is good. I love helping the poor. The Lord is always so right on time with an extra amount of a needed item so I can give it away. Being prepared for your family and being prepared and ready to help those in need is such a blessing.
