Week 7, 8, and 9

We are leaving  the bustling city life Paris for the

quiet atmosphere and beautiful scenery  of

Provence in the south of France.

During this time we hope to study:

  • Self Portraits : Vincent did over 40 self

portraits. ( 20 of them were done while he was in Paris)

We will examine some of them. We will also  do our

own portrait. We will be using as a

This portrait is not of Van Gogh. It is a painting of Alexander Reid

by Van Gogh. Reid was a friend of Van Gogh. For many years this

portrait was thought to be of Van Gogh.

  • We will do an indepth study of

Arles in Provence ( culture of the period, geography, so on)

  • We plan to start the timeline. I like to put this

off till the kids get an idea of how they want to do

their timeline. They need a knowledge base and idea

of where they have been to get started.Its really
