Birdhouse Gourds

Today we planted Birdhouse Gourds. We hope to be able to make bird houses and other decorative items with them. They take 180 days to mature so we are really just under the wire our area for growing them. We have a long time to learn how to turn them into a piece of art or a birdhouse! But here are some sites on the history of Gourds. Very interesting.

Did you make the birdhouse in the second picture? Looks like a fun project.
