Tightwad Tuesday

Some money eaters:

Bottled Water: buy nylegen water bottles. Plan ahead and put them in the fridg.

Personal Snacks: Plan ahead. Make your own. Also keep fruits and veggies perpared  to eat in the fridg.

Cup of Coffee: Invest in a good travel thermos. Make your own coffee and take it with you when you know you will be out and about during your coffee time.

Trip to the store for an item: Do without it! Wait till you can go for many items. We have a Sams Club List, a Walmart List , and a Food Lion List, ( we made it on the computer) and we try to do all three in one run if possible. Saves gas, Time, and impulse buying.

Shopping when hungry: it has been proven that we buy more if we shop while we are hungry! So eat a bit before you go!

Going to the Movies: We wait till the movie comes out. Make popcorn at home and enjoy for less than half of what it cost us to go to the movie.  And we can see the movie again anytime we want to.

Going out to Eat: I love doing this! So it is hard to have self control. By not eating out impulsively we can plan ahead and eat at a favorite place once in a while. Meal planning cuts impulse eating out.

  1. Good Morning, my friend!

Thanks for inviting us in this morning and sharing your TT tips. All of these are great time-saving and money-saving tips. Eating out has been a problem for us on and off, and we've decided to go out once a month, but to a better restaurant - like you said, a favorite. It's hard, but worth it!!

    Have a great week!

  4. Eating out is a downfall for my family. I need to cook more - that's the sum of it all. Anyway, not tonight. We had a strong earthquake today and I'm afraid to cook... isn't that silly? Well, posted about our adventure.

You are right about all of these being money eaters. I really, really love to go out to eat once a week though! (We try to find somewhere cheap and use coupons.)

I am having trouble with cboxes. I left you a note on Monday, but it must not have shown up. Weird!
