Homemade Christmas

Treasures from Christmas 2002

These ornaments are 13 years old in this photo.  ( again sorry for the quality of the photo) They were made by my oldest son when he was 3. The stars are simple. Just a form, glue, glitter, and ribbon. With care they have lasted all these years and make the tree sparkle.

The pomander is this photo is a lemon. We also have oranges and limes. They are now retired ( just this past year) but lasted 18 years. We will be making new ones this year. They add a great scent in the air.

Here are a few web sites on how to make pomanders. Again this is a project that needs to be started now. It takes time for the to dry.

  1. What FUN photos !!! I just love them. I have made pomanders LONG time ago. What fun to get to make them again. I am sure your girls will like it more now that they are older. This year I am really evalulating "how" we are going to make Christmas simple so we can all enjoy it. I don't want to stress about things and loose sight of the reason for the season.

Thank you for sharing my SSiC

  2. I was surprised to hear that the pomanders lasted for eighteen years, they held up very well. We have never made them before, but we just might try it this year! I'd really like their scent filling the air - so refreshing! :D Thank you for joining me again!

    Blessings,

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. Psalms 143:8
