We harvested the first batch of Birdhouse Gourds. They are still green and will be completely ready to work with in three to six months. The vines on these gourds were completely gone but the stems had not yet turned totally brown. We are hoping for the best. We are storing them in our upper attic for the curing process.
We intend to make birdhouses with most of them. There are several in the garden still that are tiny and we are hoping suitable for jewerly.
Here are some sites on gourds.
