Making the Goal!

I was cleaning out my word file on the computer and came across a document from when I first started recording my lifestyle change ( weightloss).

My BMI was 29.7 Thats considered obese. My BMI as of today is 22.3. That is considered "healthy".

My goal at that time was to be 122 by the end of March. I made that goal! I am weighing in at 118.

I measured food strictly for 5 weeks according to this document. It worked! I now measure by sight and no longer need my measuring cups.

I was not able to walk two blocks at the beginning of this journey....I can now easliy walk 10! And I enjoy it!

This brings me to another goal that often seems so hard to keep....meeting with my Lord each and every day. I find it easy to live my life for Him and do all things for Him. Spending time in the word and prayer....seems to sometimes be a mountain! I love my time with the Lord so why is it so difficult? I am guessing just like my weight loss and lifestyle change to take better care of my body I need to make it a habit and work at it because I am human. I need to form the habit. I need to work at it till it is like breathing. So I am on to this goal...

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.  Hebrews 12:2-3

  1. Good morning! What a great post! That is so true. I want to spend time with the Lord and yet I don't. I have to make it a goal and write it into my calendar to find that time--productive time without the kids needing things. I've learned that I have to get up at 5:30 to spend uninterrupted time with Him. It's amazing how much better my days are when I start with that quiet time.

  3. You, Chasity, and my hubby are such inspirations. I will have to sit down and figure out a way to count calories. I will have to read your past posts of your journey. If you can help me by giving me a short cut that would be great. I don't have a lot of time. But I REALLY want to loose 15 pounds as my first goal and then eventually a total of 25 pounds. My body is holding on to my weight and this is something I have never had to deal with. I have always been smaller and had no real issues with weight till about 5 years ago. ((sigh)) I am trying not to get discouraged. Portions is my hang up I think.

    Blessings and ((HUGS))

    In Him<><

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. Psalms 143:8
