Nothing Can Replace the Doughnut

I tried Glazed Doughnut Muffins this week. They had a claim to taste just like Old Fashioned Glazed Doughnuts...( which I love ).
They were very tasty but no doughnut!  The family loved them.
My glaze was lumpy because I rushed it. Recipe says it makes 12. The muffins were huge. I think you could make 18 normal sized muffins. ( better for those of us trying to control our portions!)

  1. At least you gave it a try, but I would imagine nothing is as good as the real thing!

  2. Yep, there's something about dough deep-fried in Crisco that is different than batter baked in an oven. I'm sure the taste comparison was only for the glaze... :-) They sure look good! I have an awesome recipe for glazed muffins, too...I love them, but no, they're not like donuts!

Sorry I've been MIA, but there's been wayyyy too much action here, and I just can't blogging much yet. Working on mil's house, almost ready to put the "For Sale" sign in the lawn, maybe 3 more weeks to go!

    Blessings,

  3. I have this pinned on Pinterest. I have been wanting to try. I love doughnuts too. I remember when I saw this recipe....I was thinking how can that taste like the fried goodness of a Krispy Kreme, LOL. I still want to try....they do look good.
