Countdown to Christmas Break

We are eagerly counting the days down to Christmas Break. When the kids were in the elementary years we generally just took all of December off and enjoyed everything the season had to offer. However with two in Jr high and a high schooler, that much time off takes school well into summer.  So we are anticipating two weeks off starting with the 23rd.

Looking forward to just playing, baking, seeing the lights, doing an all day christmas movieathon, playing board games, doing a puzzle ( all in one day!) and catching up on crafts. If weather permits we will be outside a lot.

Of course I will have to clean, do all the regular household stuff...sigh. I am looking forward to developing  a Unit Study for Van Gogh's Sunflowers for Art Class and a Unit Study for Physical Science for Science Class ( Matter, Forces, Energy and so on) We just finished Vermeer in Art. The kids wanted to keep going and study more. They found him facinating. In science we just finished The Human Body...they are so glad to be finished! They want more hands on stuff..."can we please do something more fun". I find the human body facinating. I guess my kids don't share my love!

I hope you all have a fun filled time with your family over the holiday break. Take time just to be still and take in all your blessings.

  1. We are about to begin our Christmas break at the end of next week. Yeah! Two weeks with nothing educational to do. Hope you have a wonderful holiday.
