We will start our week with:
- watercolor ( Van Goghs early works in watercolor are very
different from later works)
Here is a sampling of his watercolor works early to later. You
can see how his style has changed.

We will be using Weaver Seen From the Side and Women Miners.

I am using the following book for the some of
Through the Eyes of Vincent Van Gogh: Selected Drawings and
Paintings by the Great Master by Barrington Barber
It can be downloaded for free at:

- off topic of Van Gogh: Just Watercolor Lessons
This is where we tend to bunny trail. I wish we could afford
those beautiful blocks of watercolor paints at Michaels. Or
even a set of the 20 dollar ones. Our watercolor will have to
be with the basic 8 Crayola paint. I recommend if you can
save up and buy good watercolors and watercolor paper.
Below are several sites that have lessons on how to do watercolor.
I think it is good to teach the artist techniques and styles as we
go along in the study. We may camp here a while! I will post what
we actually do at the end of the week.
Here are some cool web sites with lessons on Watercolor.
http://www.beckwithfamily.com/watercolor.html some basic info.
http://www.princetonol.com/groups/iad/Files/water.htm Complete
lessons. Very good with vocabulary and demos. This is designed
for elementary school.

I love this lesson! It is called Van Gogh Scapes. Watercolor and
collage together! So much fun and learning all rolled up in one
lesson.

http://www.johnlovett.com/class.htm More advanced lessons.
http://susieshort.net/watercolor-tips.html Very basic demos.
http://www.multimediaarts.com/watercolors/demos.htm

http://www.fountainstudio.com/watercolor_tips.html

http://www.wetcanvas.com/web/sites/138/rodzart/demo.html
Step by Step intermediate to advanced.
http://www.branchstudio.com/j/Demos/Demos.htm
These seem basic. I really like her style.
Please note I always plan more than I expect to accomplish.
Some weeks we get it all done. Other weeks will overlap. At least
this way I have enough material prepared for the study.
