I have found over the past several years that I do not take time to read for pleasure. I read lots of books for school and bible study. I miss the alone time with a good book! I recently was give a box of books. A goldmine really! I started
Janette Oke: A Heart for the Prairie by Laurel Oke Logan. This book is right up my alley with real history, faith and a womans viewpoint. I hope to redevelop the habit of reading for fun again.
I was at that place a few years back. The last 3 years I have set myself the goal to read 6 books for pleasure. The are not to be books I have to check out, or be familiar with because of the kids reading them. They can be on the kids reading lists but I am to read them because I want to. I have surprised myself every year - I have read about 8 a year. It takes me forever to read a book (unless of course I get so absorbed I reneg on all my responsibilities and just read the book - and that has happened!! LOL).
ReplyDeleteSo go for it - read a book for fun!
