From time to time I like to post a menu. My husband does alot of the cooking in our family since he is at home and he loves to cook. He experiments alot and comes up with great ideas. This week we did alot of italian dishes. We decided to start making our own pizza dough. It taste so much better! We also got the grill all cleaned up and ready to use. We love to cook outside. As the herbs begin to grow we are going to try some flavored oils. We started using mostly olive oil this year. Much healtier and it just taste better. I am looking for good recipes on flavoring oils and how to preserve them.
Homemade Pizza :We make extra dough balls for later. Kids like to make their own personal size pizza's. We buy #10 cans of Ragu Sauce. Once the can is open we divide it up and freeze it. We make a double batch of dough as well. This makes about 6 pizza's. It can be frozen.
Fruit Pies: Single serving size made with pizza dough. Our favorite is peaches. But any fruit will work.
BBQ Chicken :We must have 365 ways to do this. We just serve with a salad and grilled veggies. Our newest favorite BBQ seasoning is Webers Salmon Rub. Its great on Chicken, Pork, Grilled Veggies, and Salmon!
Waffle Hamburger Sandwiches :I will have to post a photo of this one! It is a hamburger on an Cheese Roll put in the waffle iron. All the toppings are added afterwards. They are yummy!
Homemade Bisquits :These are made with a special ingredient ( about 1/3 of the homemade mix is pancake mix) and really come out fluffy. They are a great ham and cheese bisquit meal in a hurry. We make the bisquits quite large, set out cheese , ham, veggies, and toppings.
Chicken and Dumplings: Goes with the homemade bisquit dough! We do it in the crockpot. Great for Wednesday night. I never have leftovers.
Calzones :We make these all the time. Great for using leftover bits of meat and cheeses, veggies, and the leftover pizza dough. Serve with sauce on the side and a garden salad.
Spaghetti:Sauage/Hamburger meat mix, veggies, salad, and homemade garlic bread twist ( using pizza dough)
Thanks ^_^
