Anti Procrastination Challenge

I worked hard this week redesigning how to put my daughters quilt  together better. I was not happy with the way I did it. ( it was the way I was taught but I still did not like it!) I found a great tutortial on line that really helped and seems to be working great. Anyway I did not finish a block but I am very happy with the way it is going. I had no idea there was so much math involved! And for my dyslexic brain I am slow to get it!  The seam ripper has been my close friend this week! I have been thinking all week....maybe just a pillow! But my gals have been handing me embroderied butterflies and flowers for the quilt...thus I must go on!

I  spent a great deal of time this week organizing my kitchen cupboards. It is amazing how much room you have when you put everything back where it goes and get rid of stuff you have not used in a year or longer. I have never used the pampered chef nut chopper....too much work to wash the thing! Or the zillion free interestingly shaped tupperware items from the 60s. ( maybe there is a reason they are in the free box at the thrift store!)

I also prepared for fall and winter baking. Grouping spices and making sure I have all I need. I love to bake once school starts.

I hope you are all having a fantastic start to your school year and the season.

  1. I am sooooo happy you found a better way to sew your squares together ! As I said my mom only made a pin cushion with hers. [0; You are amazing me with your work. I like to quilt but you are surpasing me by far ! You are doing great and I can't wait to see this quilt grow !!

    I am curious how much is borax there ? I will look at my receipt and we can compare. [0=

  2. Oh, your quilt square looks lovely!! You are making steady progress, and I am proud of you! It's amazing how mis-guided our motherly attempts are; this quilt if far more important than many other things. You are giving your daughter such a beautiful piece of yourself in it that she will cherish always.

    Okay, when you mentioned your kitchen cupboards I felt a little nagging going on. *sigh* So apparently one of my upcoming AP posts will be my kitchen cupboards. Thanks, Tina. LOL!

    Have a lovely week, my friend!

    God Bless,

  3. Oh I am loving the quilt. It is amazing. Your girls will cherish it a life time. I have a quilt my hubby's grandmother made us. She passed on in 2004. Everytime I cover up in it, I think of her and remember.

    Be blessed,

  4. Right on for not giving up, girlfriend!!! Those kids. They have a way of motivating us don't they?!!

    LOL on the pillow comment!! You are so funny!! :}

    You are doing a great job in sticking to it!! I love seeing the progress you're making!!

    Thanks for sharing,
