This year we are all learning sign language together. We are having a wonderful time. I am using A Word in the Hand by Jane Kitterman and S. Harold Collins. ( Book One and Two). Each book covers 15 weeks. Each week is a theme such as color, people, school, ect. The directions are very clear and easy to follow. The vocabulary pictures are easy to learn from.
We have done a little bit with sign language. It is actually very interesting to learn. I hope you all have fun with it.

ReplyDeleteI was going to send you an invite through email but I couldn't find an email contact spot anywhere. You will really like this program!
That is soooooo great you all are doing this. I took 3 out of 9 levels in collage to get the pre rec's for the American Sign Language Interperter program. I ended not going into it for certain reasons. I will tell when I can type better. Too tired. lol

I'm taking ASL in college this semester. Vocab. is easy but sentence structure is very hard. I'm just now starting to see light at the end of the tunnel there.

I will be adding this resource to my ever growing list! I tried to do a bit with my ds1 when he was younger, but gave up after much frustration in finding books.

Sign language has been something I have been interested in for many years. I do know some SL, but not alot.
ReplyDeleteWe tried to learn French a couple years ago, but with the Littles, it was too hard! haha!
Have a great time learning all the languages!
