Well half the year has gone by and we are just starting a study! Not that we have not studied art...we have right along with our history study of the Renaissance. Brunelleschi, Michelangelo,Donatello,Fra Angelico and Fra Filippo Lippi, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Bertoldo di Giovanni,Jan Van Eyck,Jerome Bosch, Albrecht Durer, Pieter Bruegel, Raphael, the Tak Mahal ( art work in building form!),Titian, St Basils Cathedal. We will continue to do quick studies of the fabulous artist and architects of that period.
The children have requested an indepth study like the one we did on Van Gogh. They want to do Rembrandt. Earlier this year we were able to see a show of Rembrandt etchings and how etchings were done. This really fascinated them and they want to learn more about the artist.
So I am working on an outline of the study which will begin in February.
