Tightwad Tuesday

Photobucket

Okay gals don't laugh! My TWT tip for today is start planning for the Christmas Season NOW! This is more of a goal than a tip or perhaps a resoultion! I want to be able to not stress the family budget next Christmas season. I would also like to be able to relax and not have to go out into the crowds in November and December.

I have made a list of each family members favorite collectibles, things ect. I plan to make each a gift, buy each a gift and set some cash aside throughout the year. I have also made a list of items for my friends.

I have already bought my youngest a gift. It was 75 percent off and ( the Key) I had cash. Do not spend money on sale items if you do not have the budget to do so.

The gals and I are learning a new  craft and hope to sell stuff at the craft shows over the summer. Thank you Mary! Your beautiful art work has inspired the gals and I to try our hand at making necklaces and earings. Though our medium will be paper, dryer lint and other green items. ( because they are free).

Blessing to you in the New Year!

  1. We have Christmas as a budget item each month and pay only cash for gifts. This Christmas we had $400 set aside and when it was gone, that was it! It is wonderful knowing we will have no bills coming in over the next month!

  2. You and I are of like minds, Tina! I have finished my holiday binder and have already begun my gift list. My goal is at least 50% or more homemade items. I'm thinking of a once monthly holiday meme to encourage and nag people like us - what do you think? *grin*

Have a wonderful day, my friend, and thank you for your encouraging words yesterday. ((hugs))
