I was ask how I do my bible study using the web sources. ( Do I journal etc) I start each week with a word document titled for that week of study. When I do my study I have the word document open , the bible reading page open, my favorite commentary page open, and usually a bible dictionary page open along with a search page open. When I come across something I want or need to understand better I either google it or use the commentary or the dictionary. I keep notes on my word document.  I enjoy being able to reference stuff right as I read it.

Feb 22: Lev 26-27

Ye shall make you no idols, neither shall ye rear you up a graven image, or a pillar, neither shall ye place any figured stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am Jehovah your God.

2 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am Jehovah.

 3 If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

This seems all so simple to do…but we all know just how difficult it is. The Lord gave such awesome promises if we could just do the above.

Then given all the things the Lord would do to them if they did not follow the above….oh my. I would have lived in fear I think…

All through the reading so far the Sabbath is very important to the Lord even for the land. ( as a gal who grew up on a farm I understand allowing the land to rest and the value of it). It has me thinking that we do not honor our Father by correctly observing the Sabbath or day of rest.

Homer: A unit of capacity used by the ancient Hebrews, equal to 10 ephahs (about 10 bushels) or 10 baths (about 100 gallons). Also called kor.

Feb 23: Num 1-2

Three Score: Being three times twenty; sixty

I have always loved the orderliness of the tribes. There is so much to learn in these passages about leadership and order.

Psalm 3. 4, 5

Feb 24: Num 3-4

Again I am in awe of Gods order. Everything was cared for in the Tablernacle. From Aaron who had people attending to him to each stick of furniture and even the screen door.

were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen  I love the math of the bible!

Seal skin…Think about it! They were in the desert. Everything that the tabernacle was built with was the finest…cold, brass, silver, linens, etc. The spoils of Egypt must have been rich.  When we studied the tabernacle years ago with the kids there was never a moment of boredom. It is awesome to study.

Feb 27: Num 8-10

give light in front of the candlestick.

The seven-branched candlestick in the tabernacle, described in Ex. xxv. 31 et seq. and xxxvii. 17 et seq., is attributed by the critics to post-exilic times, for the description is that of the candlestick of the Second Temple. It was chased of pure gold, and called, therefore, "menorah ehorah" (Ex. xxxi. 8, xxxix. 37; Lev. xxiv. 4). From a pedestal ("yarek"), which is not described, rose the trunk, and from this spread the branches("aneh"), curving upward from the stem at three points in a vertical line; on the trunk there are said to have been four, and on each of the branches three, calices shaped like almond blossoms; that is, bulbs with opening buds. On the branches were seven lamps ("nerot"), which were removed every day for trimming and refilling, and hence were called "nerot hama'arakah" (Ex. xxxix. 37). As the lamps evidently had spouts from which the wicks protruded, thus throwing the light principally to one side, the lamps had to be turned in such a way as to make the spouts point northward, for the candlestick was set over against the southern wall, in order to be to the left of any one entering the sanctuary.

No matter what I must face or go through: Yet I will exult in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord GOD is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds' feet, And makes me walk on my high places

  1. Once again I stand in awe of you. I wished I could keep my house as clean as you, go out and minister as you do, and study/teach like you do. I really wished I lived next door to you and maybe through osmosis come to be a better woman.

  2. Were you the one who posted a cookie recipe with pudding in it. It was mentioned that those cookies sold for $7.50 a dozen to dh's coworkers. If it was you, could you please give me the recipe, or link me to it? I thought I cut/pasted it into a Word document, and now I can't find it.

  3. I'm glad you are so faithful!

I'm really here--mostly. But my Daily Bread ran out and I don't have a new one yet so I"m faking it for knowing what to read this week! *grrrr*

The weekend was hard! Kaetlyn woke up crying with an earache Sat. night. We were up 3 hours rocking and she wanted her parents (she's 5). I'm dragging, as that was the second night of little sleep. The first being a wind storm, a strange bed (I stayed at my son's and DinL's), a furnace that kicked on like a wind tunnel every 40 minutes, and the 2-year-old crying and coughing. *I lived*

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. Psalms 143:8
