Wow I am still falling terribly short of 2 hours and 40 minutes each day. This is hard!!!!! This week was hard! Reading through all the laws and repeats over and over…just difficult to stay the course.

I love doing my bible reading/study on the computer. It enables me to enlarge the print, do side by side studies, (have many windows open), and look up stuff right away. I tend to leave the bible reading window up on my computer throughout the day. I find I read it more often that way.

Scarlet: probably refers to yarn or thread to tie the hyssop.
Seven: Mentioned so many times in the bible. It is interesting. I do not believe everything I read about it. ( numerology) http://www.essortment.com/all/numbersbible_rfyq.htm http://www.kjvbible.org/seven_days.html http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_significance_of_the_number_seven_in_the_Bible
Log of Oil ( boy did it take a while to find the meaning of this one!) It’s a unit of measure!
Log - the smallest measure for liquids used by the Hebrews (Lev. 14:10, 12, 15, 21, 24), called in the Vulgate sextarius. It is the Hebrew unit of measure of capacity, and is equal to the contents of six ordinary hen's eggs=the twelfth part of a him, or nearly a pint.
Reading the commentaries on the above passage helps greatly with understanding.

Yes, if I were not involved in this meme I definitely would have a hard time sticking with it . . . especially those "books least read" like Leviticus and Numbers. I'm SO glad you are with me, as are Mary and a couple of others. If no one was joining me each Saturday to report, I think I might just start sluffing off. So thanks for keeping me accountable too!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for those links. I wanted to read more about leprosy, but then it just kind of fades after I close the Word. Isn't the internet wonderful for the "quick and easy" research? And that Molech. *shiver* We watched the Ray Van . . something or other "That the World May Know" and one of the lessons was about the Molech worship, etc.
But you know what? I have an eerie song called, "Hear the Baby Say . . ."
It's sung by an Israeli gal to modern-day Israel, and it's about abortion. In one verse she calls out to Israel that by having abortions they are offering their children to Molech "...your Molech murderings . . ."
The song brings tears to my eyes, and abortion IS the same thing as offering our children to Molech. Nothing's changed since then. Only the god's name, I'm afraid.
Satan is not very creative. He just tries the same thing over and over again, with a new "face." I hate that guy!
I love your idea of keeping the Bible reading on the computer all day. I frequently sit down to check something online and if the Bible passage was there, I'd read it more. I also have an audio Bible on my iPod that I listen to, but not as much as I should. I love reading all your insights and checking out all the great links you post. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever considered studying that way. It is interesting. How exactly do you do your studies? Do you have a journal and write down key points or do you use some type of Q&A?
