Weekly Wrapup

From the Heart:

Carving out more time with the Lord this week. I so crave quiet time alone. Feeling the momma tug on my heart as my oldest is getting married and leaving home, my second oldest leaving for school in October. Enjoying that my daughters are old enough to spend so much fun time with me.

Concerned about seeing the surgeon on tuesday concerning lump in breast. Its very large. They are pretty sure its benign..but the process of getting it asperated or removed is painful.

On the Homefront:

Its spring...with that comes lots of animal hair, dust, humidity. That requires so much more cleaning. Too much rain to mow. Hoping to get it done today. However the skys are again cloudy and the wind has picked up. The wildflower garden is in full bloom. We are enjoying many birds and bugs! Enjoying getting outside inspite of the rain.

In the School Room:

Middle son has finished 12th grade! He is done with his homeschool career and ready to move on. Amazing!

The gals and I are planning summer and fall fieldtrips ( or as we call them living school trips). We want to make a trip to DC and see the art museum, natural history museum, science museum, and the zoo. They also want to go to Philly....( we went a few years back and they loved it!). Praying for cash! We also want to take advantage of all the free stuff right here at home. Lots of festivals, art shows ect.

We went to the art museum again this week. We always learn something each time we go. Did you know there is a breed of dog with 6 toes on its hind feet? The Rus Rouge! Its in one of the paintings. The history on the painting pointed out this little fact.

We took the gals on an antique store blitz. There are several stores in our area. We had a great time looking at history. Its a great way to study eras with your kids.

On the Mission Field:

We took the week off from the homeless ministry. Saturday the guys had to get fitted for tux for the wedding and the gals and I had an outreach to attend at the trailer park. Our church does a wonderful mother/daughter tea for these moms and daughters.

On the creative side:

I am researching recipes that are low in fat, low in sugar. Trying to learn all I can to do a better job in the kitchen for my family.

I am pulling that quilt out...the one I started for DD1. I really need to work on it.

Planning more garden space.

In the Literary Scene:

Lots of cook books!  A devotional by Elizabeth George, Biology Text book. ( must study!). Reading through Judges in the bible.

  1. I am sooooooooo glad you decided to join Carol and us in this fun meme ! I think we will get a chance to see more into all the little things we all are doing in our home and homeschool. It is a nice skeleton to work with. I am already thinking what catogories I want to add to share what is going on. I pray so many blessings and good times with your dd's summer plans... and take LOTS of pics. [0=

Your family is so missions minded too. That is so cool. As for the "State English", what we are doing actually is doing a report on the history and so forth of Colorado. It is required by our state. I'm kind of giving up on the idea of it being a full-fledged research project at this point. I don't think my girls are ready for that. Instead we will read the stuff together and do our projects together. Mostly the projects are making notebook sheets. I've found several books in the library on the topic and we'll read a few of them together as we go. It is a good change from the American history we've been doing all year anyway.

    Have a great week.
