Weekly Wrap Up

From the Heart: Got to see my son play with his band last night., It was awesome! Love seeing him do what he is passionate about. We also got to see three other bands. They played with the Garage Band Ministry. http://www.westhamptonbaptist.org/whbc_gbm_home.htm , Days of Grace was one of the bands. http://www.dogband.net/  Halogen another. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/Halogen4Him?ref=search&sid=100000158468129.3921628062..1  Sons band is called The Beautiful Discord  http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/Beautiful-Discord/168641577138  Hows that for a shameless plug from a proud mama!?   A KLOVE representitive was there to promote Winter Jam and the Toby Mac concert. We won 4 tickets to Winter Jam and a T shirt! The Winter Jam was cancelled and rescheduled due to snow. I just love how the Lord provides

On the Missionary Field: We reconnected with an old friend in the past few months. This has given us an open door to learn more about the ministry field and connect with others who share our passion.

Around the House: That flylady blitz I had planned last week did not even get started! Sometimes you plan your week and other times your week plans you! We did get the basics done.

In the Schoolroom: Gals finished vocabulary and literature. That's three classes done for the year! ( finished Geography a while back) Amazing.

On the Bookshelve: Same books! But no time to read this week. Hitting the books today!

In the Kitchen: Busy week! Last weeks leftovers carried us till midweek. Then we had fajitas, eggrolls, and a porkroast. (which I might add made more leftovers!) I have a ham that needs to go in the crockpot by tomorrow. We just were not home much this week so we ate on the run out of the fridg. Hubby planned a nice Valentines Day dinner. We celebrated early as everyone would be home.

On the Creative Side: Finished the project I tore out last week. I think I finally figured out how to do it!

Thrifty Finds; This week we found two treasures. You can read about the finds here: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/solidrock/764895/   I learned that the dress was $110.00 brand new. I paid 29.99 for it! It was most likely worn once for a wedding.

I also went shopping for a pair of dress pants and blazer. Found exactly what I needed at the thrift store for $2.00. My youngest daughter found three name brand tees for 25 cents each, and a brand new pair of name brand tennis shoes for $2.00. Our thrift store dones buy one get one free on clothes every saturday.Plus at the yard sale part of the thrift store the clothes are only 25 cents. You just have to be willing to dig through boxes.

I could not leave the thrift store without a few books in hand. I found a total of 8  Max Lucado and Bruce Wilkinson books for $4.50. Now to find time to read them all!

Christmas and Birthday Boxes: One handmade gift added this week.

Goals for this coming week: Declutter, Scour the kitchen, read a book.

  2. Sounds like you all had a real busy week. I need to do better at having left overs in the fridge for the really busy weeks. McDonalds eating must STOP!!! Really, we do not eat there very often but gross when we do.

    Blessings,

    Dawn

  5. Bargain-shopping is a talent that I do NOT possess! I like bargains, but I just don't like shopping. I may have to check out that website for sure. Thanks for sharing!
