Time of Refreshing, Rodents, Company, Illness and more

I am not missing in action...at least not around our house! Life at times just becomes so full. ( notice I did not say busy...busy implies full of action and so much more) This last week was consumed with a womens retreat, school, food panty work, trailer park ministry, cleaning and more cleaning, mouse hunting, and me being sick. No time for blogging!
The womans retreat was awesome!!!!! A great time of refreshing, renewing, and learning. I gave the kids the week off from our school here at home ( they still have homework for their enrichment classes) I was just too sick on Monday to deal with school, and cleaning and all the other stuff. We looked at our schedule and decided we could still finish early May with this week off. So glad I have the whole year planned out so I would not stress over interruptions.
My sons gal friend and her mom will be here this evening and stay through Monday. So I have been cleaning and cleaning and stressing a bit over the house. We have met his gal but not her mom! She wanted to meet us. ( likewise!) And our dear son gave us a weeks notice as to their visit! They will get a full dose of our busy day at the food pantry tomorrow, our cell group on Friday, Josh's band on Sat, church on Sunday.
Yesterday we noticed a nasty dead critter smell in our living room. ( we had just cleaned the carpets, floors, dusted ect. This room was really clean. There was no sign of critters during our clean up) So hubby dawned old clothes and went under the house in search of a dead animal. He found a squirrel skull... ( good for biology), but no dead critters. This morning the smell is aweful so we have to move all the furniture in that room. We are praying its not in the walls ( had that happen a few years ago).
I cooked dinner for 30 kids yesterday. I love doing this but it would have been so much easier if I felt well. I also was the teacher for the trailer park ministry last night. Dinner went well. Spaghetti, greenbeans, peaches , applesauce, and juice. ( the kids love love love fruit) The lesson was a bit difficult as I had little to no voice. But we got through it and in the end a blessed time.
And yes I am sick. Nasty cold and cough, achey, and generally miserable. Mornings are the hardest. Praying I can keep going during the visit. Lots of tea, honey, vitamen C and hot steam.
I am enjoying my bible studies. Having a bit of a time keeping up but just the parts that I am able to study have been fabulous. Hoping to catch up this week.
Thats what my week has been like!

  3. Hi Tina,
I pray you'll soon get better and that you have a lovely visit...with no critter smell. Yuk! We had the smell in the wall before, too, and it's horrible.

    ((hugs))

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. Psalms 143:8
