This Week at Morningstar

On The Heart and Mind: Wishing for fresh breezes and the warm rays of the sun.

On The Home Front: Illness. Just keeping up.
Here are photos of dear daughter with her band pals at their first performance outside of our church. The band in called oLivePark ( its spelled that way). We are very proud of them. These ladies are very talented. They play a lovely style of music. Sorta Barlow girl and at times Celtic ( with the violin ) Its quite lovely. Here are the four of them. Dear daughter is the one in front.

Dear daughter on the keys.

Before they actually started.

In Our School: Not a productive week. Strep has come to visit our home. DD 16 only did homework for her enrichment classes. DD14 was able to do 80 percent of her work. We have slowly been falling behind over the past month. I am seeing glimpses of school in the summer. This is a photo of dd 14 chinese art on a paper lamp. I will soon have many photos of her art.

My Craft Corner: I found this lovely web page that has videos for teaching how to do different squares ( crochet) http://knitandcrochetnow.com/fly.aspx?layout=patternsindex&taxid=109 You can download the patterns for free and view the videos for free. I almost pulled out my crochet hook but resisted the urge! I’ve too many unfinished projects at the moment. I had hoped to get pictures of my yo yos this week but alas the week has come and gone. I have decided on the pattern for it and am quite excited to get started! Its my own pattern based on 3 different patterns from the 30s that I love.
In The Kitchen:
Breakfast: granola, eggs, cereal, pancakes
Lunches: Tuna Noodle Casserole, Nachos, Chicken Salad, Dash Board Diner ( 7 -11 on the run) Pot Roast Soup
Dinners: Chicken Bites ( homemade), Tacos, Pot Roast, Leftovers, Jimmy Johns with our Bible group, freezer instant food. Okay we were suppose to go to dinner at a friends and it was cancelled, so I opened the freezer and pulled out pizza rolls, chicken strips, and beef strips, The kids made nachos and enjoyed the pizza rolls too. We made a movie night of it.
I am reading: The Bible in Chronological Order, City on Our Knees by Toby Mac, Colossians in a Year and Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul. Watching The Truth Project each week with my church http://www.thetruthproject.org/ and I started A Horse and His Boy by CS Lewis

  1. So sorry sickness has come to your house, and strep is never fun. Hope everyone is 100% soon. That's a great pic of your daughter & her band friends. I'm going to bookmark that crochet site. No time to look at it now, but definitely in the future. :)

  4. Good Morning!
I'm so sorry to hear that you all have been sick...it is so hard to keep up with studies when this happens! I am praying for you all...try to get plenty of rest and remember those fluids!

Thank you for sharing that really wonderful website. I click on it and found some great ideas! I have quite a few projects that I need to finish up first, but would like to try several I saw on this site!

    Have a blessed day,
    Laura

  5. Hi there! So sorry you've been sick.

My boys want to form a band. There's only one problem, they don't know how to play anything yet! 12 yo is learning guitar and 10 year old wants to play drums.

    Blessings!

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. Psalms 143:8
