Today we went to a wonderful antique store in an old town that is smack dab in the middle of a newer town. We love this little place. Of course we found a gift for someone. We had a great time poking around in the store. Then we drove around and explored Ft Monroe. Last time we visited there is was still an active Army post. It is now a National Park. It was quiet and very different on this visit.

The rest of the photos are the actual Ft Monroe.
Moat and tunnel entrance.
Another tunnel entrance and a cool narrow door.
This church is beautiful.
The rampart is an entrance to the top of the wall and the entire walk way around the wall is a park.
Moat again and WW1 building.

Below photos: And while hubby and I were out on an adventure our gals were on their own adventure. They went to our favorite Thrift Store outlet where clothes are sold by the pound. I gave the gals some cash and ask them to find something nice for me. 10 tops....5 bucks! One still has its price tag on it. ( $ 25.00!) It had been quite a while since I have gotten any new to me clothes. ( except for the pants I had to buy because I gained weight :( ) I immediately went through my closet and pulled worn out clothes to make room for these beautiful shirts.
I love the antique store.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun time! I'd really like to visit Virginia one day, when money allows.
