This week we will be spending time in Nuenen Belgium where Van Gogh
lived among the peasants. We ended last week with the Potato Eaters. We
plan to revisit this painting and look more carefully at technique. Then we
will look at a study of peasant woman's head and another study of hands,
both of which he eventually used in the Potato Eaters final composition
We will work on our own practice sketches of hands and heads. We will
study drawings from this period.
