Tightwad Tuesday

Our library has a book sale every month. Paperbacks are 25 to 50 cents. Hardbounds are $1.00. We really enjoy going to these book sales. This month we got all these books for $11.00. The art books ( four of them ) alone are worth $217.00 brand new. Dd 1 got 3 books on architecture, Dd 2 got one very nice book on China and four very large art books. Hubby even got a book on trains. We also found three novels.

Several of the books we purchased are books we regularly check out for school so this was a real find!

One of our libraries also host an ongoing book swap...take a book leave a book. This is free! So check with your library and see if they have similar programs.

  1. I LOVE library book sales. The deals can be incredible, as you've shown.

My daughter was hoping to do CLEP instead of AP, but there are very few CLEP writing sites in Canada.

  3. I need to keep checking our library book sale area. I don't tend to see much at our library sadly. When we lived on the coast we found tons at that one. This is a VERY good way to find neat treasures. I love that you all found something. [0=

  4. We *love* our library sales, too. Our library actually has a little honor shop open all the time, with prices that low, so we don't have to wait. Just take the time to peruse whenever we go.

You all did a fantastic job with books! Those art books are my favorite find - how wonderful for you!!! xxx

  6. I know our library has a sale each year, but I've never been to it; I'll have to go one of these years! Right now, I'm purging old books from our shelves. Maybe when I've made some space, I'll have the get-up-and-go to get a couple of used books! Looks like you got some very useful and fun ones...way to go!

    God Bless,
